2027 approved rates and Washington county carriers
Washington 2027 approved premium changes and county carrier availability
Washington’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner reports an approved average 22.2% increase for the 2027 exchange individual market. These are before-subsidy carrier averages, not increases in every household’s bill. OIC rate approval is not the same as exchange certification: the September 9 release says certification review was scheduled for September 10; subsequent certification has not been independently checked. Actual plan rates and after-subsidy costs may differ; a statewide average is not a county premium.
Unlike Florida’s household illustrations, this update compares exchange carrier service areas in 2026 and 2027 and lists approved carrier-level rate changes. It does not estimate county prices or subsidy amounts. Separate legal carriers are counted separately, including the two Kaiser and two Regence entities.
